Cloudmark Server Edition™ 2.0
Cloudmark Server Edition™ (CSE) delivers the industry's most effective and highest performing anti-spam and anti-phishing protection available today. CSE also provides zero-hour virus protection for more rapid response and a double-layer of protection to traditional anti-virus solutions.
CSE frees support resources, relieves system strain and delivers an immediate improvement in filtering performance. This allows for fewer help desk calls, decreased administrative management and reduced storage costs. As a result, Cloudmark Server Edition achieves the industry's lowest total cost of ownership.
Key Benefits
Unparalleled Accuracy
Within moments of the launch of an attack Cloudmark blocks over 98% of spam, phishing and virus attacks with near-zero false positives.
Ease of Administration
Out of the box functionality that frees support resources. No lists or rules to maintain mean no IT administrator intervention, freeing up valuable administrative time and resources.
Installs in Minutes
No Microsoft Exchange reboot or client-side software required.
More Efficient and Safer Mobile Messaging
Blocks spam and phishing attacks from reaching mobile devices, including Blackberry, Goodlink and Palm devices.
New Features in Version 2.0
Automatic Feedback
Allows end-users to contribute directly to the Cloudmark Collaborative Security Network with simple drag-and drop functionality that automatically reports corrections to the Cloudmark network.
Enhanced Reporting
Provides the system administrator with a view of per-user statistics, including number of messages scanned, number of messages classified as spam, and the number of messages blocked and unblocked by the end-user.
Improved Virus Filtering
Cloudmark provides the first line of defense against e-mail borne viruses. New virus threats are typically identified and filtered within minutes of first appearing in the Cloudmark Collaborative Security Network to immediately protect the entire network, blocking threats before they can create damage and disruption. Now, e-mails that carry potential viruses are moved to a safe location for administrator-controlled centralized quarantine.
Public Folder Support
CSE scans and protects public folders. Detected messaging abuse can be moved to a public folder, creating a centralized administrator-controlled quarantine area.
The Cloudmark Collaborative Security Network™
The Cloudmark Collaborative Security Network™ (CCSN) provides real-time feedback on spam, phishing, virus and other evolving threats, combined with Cloudmark's distinctive fully-automated message analysis and classification process, to block the latest threats within moments of attack origin. The CCSN processes billions of messages every day from over 100 million mailboxes in 163 countries, including those managed by some of the largest wireline, wireless and cable service providers in the world.
How Cloudmark Server Edition Works
Cloudmark Server Edition communicates with the Microsoft Exchange Server through Microsoft's standard Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) to receive notifications when messages arrive, and to perform various reconfigured actions in users' mailboxes on messages that have been determined to be spam.
Compute Fingerprints
As email arrives and the Exchange Server routes it to its addressees, Cloudmark Server Edition computes a unique fingerprint or indistinguishable one-way hash for each message and sends it to the Cloudmark Service for evaluation.
Network Transparency
Cloudmark Server Edition does not block the regular flow of messages, so its operation has no impact on throughput. When the Cloudmark Service determines that a message is spam it notifies the Cloudmark Server Edition server.
Tag or Move Spam?
Based on how Cloudmark Server Edition is configured, Cloudmark Server Edition then either: Tags the message in the addressee's mailbox, moves it to a spam folder, or deletes it.
Statistics and Reporting
Administrators can get statistics about how many messages CSE is filtering, how many users are enabled and how much time and money the product is saving the organization to prove ROI and increased productivity across your corporation.
